As Fethiye is a very popular vacation destination for British holiday goers, most people in Fethiye and local resort Oludeniz speak fairly fluent English. You won’t find language barrier to be an issue that’s for sure.

The Turquoise Coast in Turkey has it all, from a spectacular aquamarine coastline to ancient ruins and cities. Fethiye is a port city, and district, on Turkey's southwestern Turquoise Coast. It is located in the Aegeon region about 4 hours south from Izmir and 3 hours west from Antalya.

The closest airport to Fethiye is in Dalaman (airport code: DLM), and the drive from Dalaman to Fethiye will take approximately 45 minutes.

Fethiye is known for its natural harbour, beautiful waters and numerous rock tombs including the 4th-century B.C. Tomb of Amyntas, carved into a bluff overlooking the city. Near-shore islands are popular for day trips by boat. In the south, the beach at Oludeniz is sheltered by a lagoon.

A great way to get around Fethiye is by rental car. There is parking available (paid and free) at most places and it offers you more flexibility to venture further along the coast exploring places off the beaten track. Alternatively, you can take a local bus (dolmus) to travel between Fethiye and Oludeniz. It is also easy to walk around on foot in Fethiye and also in Oludeniz.
